...tiny miracle tale #2..

It seems that several of the "little miracle tales" I might share involve jewelry. This one truly astounded me. I had been given a pair of silver earrings in the form of a little boy and girl angel. I loved these little angels and wore them almost constantly, particularly during rather special meetings and events. I thought of them in a rather symbolic way and almost as having a life of their own... my little companions, so to speak.

There was a meeting to be held in Seattle on the first of November which I was to record. I collected all the necessary equipment and decided to drive up the coast the really pretty way, close to the ocean as much as possible, particularly through the giant Redwood forests. Of course, the little angel earrings went as my jewelry of choice for the trip. One part of the drive took me on a lightly traveled road through the ancient forests of Northern California on a cool, beautiful late October weekday. Because there was so little traffic I was able to pull off the road at one point and walk back deep into the woods and have my own private magical time.

I returned to the car refreshed and more in love with the trees, the day and the whole "Earth Experience" than ever. The air smelled wonderful and although it was quite cool, I rolled down the window to continue feeling and smelling everything. In fact, it was really cold, but never mind! I just bundled up, pulled a shawl around the side of me and went on with the wind blowing through my world. That night I discovered that the little boy panel had disappeared. I searched my clothes, the shawl, the car and everywhere but he was not to be found! Disappointed and saddened, I decided that he must have wanted to stay in the woods with the gnomes and fairies and the ancient tree spirits.

The trip continued - I made my recordings and returned home to Southern California with only the little girl angel keeping me company on one ear. About 2 weeks after my return home I was going through all my recording equipment, sort of checking things out when I happened to look inside a small blue zippered bag in which I carry an assortment of extra plugs and jacks in case I need something different. There, inside this little zippered bag, were both angels! I could hardly believe my eyes!

I should add that this had happened once before when I was riding on the back of a motorcycle. I had a helmet on and thought they were safe. When I took off the helmet one was missing and I felt quite foolish to have kept my favorite dangly earrings on while riding a motorcycle. That time, also, about two weeks later, to my amazement, both appeared side by side on the night table by my bed.

They are very frisky, these two little angele, but they do keep coming back home. I guess angels just stay with you even when you think you have been deserted or left behind, even playful little frisky angels.
