Fourth of July

I think I will celebrate this fourth of July
With a bonfire for my soul.
In it I’ll toss all the gathered debris
Of the habits and fears of old

Sweep through my being with a great sonic broom
Clear out the cobwebs of strife
Collect all the fears I can find lurking there
The judgments and pains of my life

I’ve seven great centers to connect with Source
Each with a style of their own.
But just look what I’ve done in those beautiful shrines..
They’re filled with such garbage and drone

The bonfire burns with a glorious flame
As I toss in each tidbit I find.
It sparkles and spurts like fireworks in the night
As it cleanses the fields that I claim

I watch as each missile explodes with delight
Releasing its energy glow
Feeling the freedom I long to explore
As I let myself enter the flow.

What a glorious way to end this day
What a feeling of feedom abounds
To release the old in a pure burst of gold
Fills my heart with a joyous sound.
